Dr. Reeser completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Following a medical internship at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Reeser completed his ophthalmology residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Wilmer Eye Institute. He served fellowships as a N.I.N.D.B. Fellow in Eye Pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, and was a Heed Fellow in Retinal Diseases at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Reeser is American Board of Ophthalmology Certified and was an examiner for the Board. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He served as Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy and was assistant chief of the ophthalmology section of the National Naval Medical Center In Washington D.C.

For 10 years, Dr. Reeser was on the full time staff at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Eye Institute, and is presently a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology. Dr. Reeser founded Retina & Vitreous Consultants of Wisconsin, Ltd., in 1983. Dr. Reeser has taught numerous courses to other physicians covering a wide range of retinal and vitreous diseases and has published extensively in the ophthalmology literature. He has participated in four National Institutes of Health research studies dealing with diabetic retinal surgery, diabetic laser treatment, endophthalmitis and macular photocoagulation.

Dr. Reeser has been selected by his peers to be included in the 2009-2010 edition of Best Doctors in America. He also has been recognized five times in Milwaukee Magazine’s Top Doctors issue.
